Things To Do

Visit the lovely market town of Woodbridge, enjoy a walk along the river and lunch in one of its many good cafes and restaurants.

Have a historical day, visiting two castles, climb to the top of Orford Castle and enjoy spectacular views of Orford Ness – indulge in a coffee and a delicious homebaked treat at the The Pump Street Bakery. Then drive to the magnificent castle at Framlingham, once home to Mary Tudor.

Enjoy a concert at Snape Maltings, saving some time for the striking Homes & Gardens store and Farmers Market.

Become a twitcher for a day at RSPB Minsmere – a bird watchers paradise by the coast.

Visit the timeless Southwold with its wonderfully painted beach huts and restored pier.

Spoil yourself with fresh fish and chips on Aldeburgh beach, walk them off by following the coastal path to Thorpeness and enjoy a little exercise on the boating lake.

The extraordinary Anglo Saxon burial mounds at Sutton Hoo are fascinating and are brought to life by the tour guides. The relatively new museum offers a really good historical lesson to all. Often there are real treasures on display that were found at the site – on loan from the British Museum.

Why not take home some specialist plants from the wonderful nursery at Woottens near Southwold, or The Walled Garden near Snape?
